About Flowers:

Until Lillian came to England in 1971 she had mainly painted in oils. Following her marriage to Robin Amis, they moved to the Cotswolds and so began her love affair with the English garden, using the medium of watercolour to express her delight. Her range then extended from garden flower borders to light-filled bouquets, single flowers, botanical studies and hyper-real expressions. Her paintings quickly developed a finesse and exuberance, which soon found an application in designs for ceramics, textiles and stationery.
